Wesleyan Village (WV) is a well-respected retirement community located in the “West by the River” historic district of Elyria, Ohio. The Village, established in 1896, is a Continuing Care Retirement Community offering Independent and Assisted Living, Alzheimer’s Assisted Living (Beacon House) and Healthcare, which includes skilled and long-term care. Wesleyan Meadows is a 55 and older ranch home community located on 36 acres in Sheffield Village, OH. We offer 1 bedroom/1 bath and 2 bedroom/2 bath homes with attached garages and patios that over look beautiful green space or a tranquil pond. Some homes may feature a den, sunroom or gas log fireplace. A community center with a library, fitness center, art studio, billiards room and more is the center of activity for residents at The Meadows.
No. You maintain complete control over your finances and handle paying your fees just as you would your other monthly bills.
No. Title of the home or apartment does not transfer to the Resident. Therefore, WSL pays the property taxes, insurance and general upkeep and maintenance for each residence. Residents must maintain their own insurance policy for their personal property. (i.e. renter’s insurance)
Residents who reside in Independent Living pay a one-time Entrance Fee and a Monthly Service Fee upon moving into the community. Residents who reside in Assisted Living have the option of either renting the apartment or paying an Entrance Fee and Monthly Service Fee.
As part of our Christian mission, Wesleyan Village provides care for Residents should they outlive their personal resources through no fault of their own. Contributions to the Wesleyan Senior Living Foundation make this charitable care possible.
Wesleyan Village operates a full-service, licensed Healthcare Center on its campus. Intermediate and skilled nursing care are offered, as are rehabilitative care including physical, occupational and speech therapies. The private and semi-private beds are licensed by the State of Ohio, Department of Public Health, and are dually certified for Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement.
CCAC is the nation’s only accrediting body for nonprofit and for-profit CCRCs. Accreditation by CCAC is regarded as a mark of quality for retirement communities. It stands as the highest “seal of approval” that a community has met or exceeded CCAC’s standards of excellence. When you choose a community that has CCAC accreditation, you can be sure that the community exhibits the highest standards of quality and integrity. Less than 300 retirement communities in the United States qualify for this accreditation.
A Resident may have one or two pets at Wesleyan Village or Meadows (dog, cat, bird or fish) provided the Resident adheres to all applicable policies and regulations of the community governing pet ownership.
