A Rich History
Over 100 years ago, Mary Lilly (a widow of the civil war) took other war widows into her home, and it became known as The Old Ladies’ Home. Over the years other property and homes were acquired on the same land where Wesleyan Village stands today. The United Methodist Church and Wesleyan Senior Living (formerly Elyria United Methodist Village) have a long relationship and the faith based community is still thriving.
As a non-profit organization; The Wesleyan Senior Living Foundation is supported by generous donations from residents, their families, associates, businesses and the community. The foundation makes it possible to offer Wesleyan residents The Promise that they will have a home and care even if their resources become depleted. Having the security and peace of mind that you or your loved one will not need to worry about the finances of a home or long term care helps to make the senior years less stressful and offers more opportunity to enjoy life.
